Why Study Law

It begins quite simple

You do your readings for the first few weeks

Then life bogs you down and you wonder how oh how

Could you have ever thought you could do this

And it is week four

And your first assignment due

And you can’t remember what sleep is

And you’re high on caffeine and sugar

And there goes your diet

And there goes your motivation

And there goes you will to live

But look, it’s done

Don’t bother proof-reading, you’re too tired

It’s 2am, you’ll just fudge it more

Hand it in

And it’s done

Breath

Get drunk

And do the readings, make notes

Skip the lecture, ‘cause life’s taking over

And do it all over again.

Remember when you had goals and a hope of the future

Well, scrap that

Now just aim to pass

Holy shit bro, you don’t even want to be a lawyer?

Why are you doing this to yourself?

Sure the degree looks good,

But there are faster ways to die

Less painless too

Just rack up that $40000 debt, who cares

Life is meaningless anyway

And Law begins to create a philosopher out of you

The Lecturer is crazy or awful or far too funny for the shitty subject and you laugh when it’s not funny

Cause you’re so bloody tired, even the typo on the menu board is hilarious
