I don’t need anyone to make me smile

When I have a TV and a bed,

I don’t need anyone to hear my problems

When they will take my credit.

I don’t need anyone to scratch my back

When I’ve got a tree to rub against,

I don’t need anyone to keep me going

When I can jump my own fence.

I don’t need anyone to show me the way

When I can use my feet to find the right path

I don’t need anyone to say well done

When I’ve got my eyes with which to see.

I just don’t need anyone

So just let me be!
