Who Is the Monster?

A Poem

"You monster!",

He hissed.

Venom dripping off his lips,

and poison seeping from his words into my heart.

I woke up every morning hearing his voice.

I spent months tasting every bitter sweet memory.

The days we sat and talked after school,

the times I accused you of lying to me.

Do you remember when your gave me a lullaby of

I love you's, and the I will never leave's?

Now I spend my nights curled up in a ball begging for things to be different.

And all I have to ask you is this,

Who exactly is the monster my prince?
