Who Am I...

Depression

You think you know me when in reality you have no clue,

I am many things fear, hate, disappointment, even despair, which will I be.

You don't know what's going on when you won't even get up and put on shoes,

That is me my dear friend taking away all your joy and making it fun for me.

You see my name is depression and I suck away your life a little at a time,

Not because you did anything but because you've been through so much.

I can be sweet as sugar or honey or as sour as a lemon or a lime,

I'll always take away your happiness by hurting you with lies and such.

You'll never know when I'll strike or who I'll use to make the blow,

It could be your spouse or it could just be a good friend.

I love to sit back and watch everything like it's a great new show,

Until the day you muster the courage to make me stop and make your misery end.
