Where You're Supposed To Be

Perspective is the Key (in Key)

Your circumstances are beautiful if you Just. Look. Up!

Riddle me this but spare me the jokes

If you’re not on fire then why all of the smoke?

I wager the sinner just might die young

Once the youth has wasted away

Sifting through the ashes to find some heat

I’m so far behind despite all of the speed

My rabbit’s feet only took me so far

Surrounded by turtles indeed

CHORUS:

You are where you’re supposed to be

There’s no denying the uncertainty

We are where we’re supposed to be

So breathe and release

Golden boy once had promise inside

There was no need for him to hide

Friends betrayed him on a dime

Bridges burned behind

Sifting through the embers in blazing heat

I’m not far behind “I’m gaining speed”

The race is nearly mine — it’s a guarantee

They’re all behind indeed

BRIDGE:

Is this my karmic release?

Where is my guarantee?

My gift is my destiny

What will it take for me?
