Where the Road Does Lead

Early Poetry

Once upon a time so clear

I held you in my heart so dear

my heart would melt with a single touch

I knew I loved you so very much

Days, weeks, and months go by

The time flew by, I know not why

As time has traveled right on past

Our relationship through strong did not last

Blame is not an issue here

We both have faults that are very clear

Out of love, we both did fall

Remained as friends through it all

In time we shall meet our new loves

We shall find our own new doves

We may even go our separate ways

There’s just one thing I need to say

No matter where the road does lead

Remember I have planted my seed

Deep inside that seed does grow

From your heart, part of me will flow

Reflect on me in your golden years

When memories will cause no fear

The gates of heaven will open wide

Together again we will meet inside

heartbreak
