Where Romance Lives

I would run around the neighborhood

Stealing flowers with scissors

And stowing them away in pockets with zippers

Poems make love too you know

Collide to reach the climax of comprehension

passed the point of understanding

on to the friction of line after line

that seem to have jumped out of your skin onto the page with their inky stains

These words were made for each other

These words were made for you

These words were made

To caress the tongue

To seduce the mind

lust and rhymes

When you've read the lines 7 times over

And still cannot quench the thirst for these dripping dreams

Again and again

Over and over

This

Is the intimacy poems have amongst one another

An envelope addressed to you

Ripped open

Now held paper thin pressed flowers

I left my place here

to find the balconies overgrown with ivy

My bare feet miss the naked ground

- sexual tension between my soul and the earth

Lately it won't stop raining

And now my world blooms

- (m.a)
