Where Has the Love Gone?

Does it still exist?

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era,

One where no one seems to want anything serious or lasting.

And those who do have already found someone,

So then I ask,

What about me?

What happened to the days where people had the nerve to say how they felt?

Where all the guys were true gentlemen,

And the girls didn't have to chase after anyone to be seen as special?

Makes me think how sad we as humans have become if the idea of love has become so meaningless.

One of the most precious emotions we could have and no one seems to want anything to do with it,

Even those who on the surface claim that they do.

Yes we have jobs to deal with, livings to make, and experiences to uphold,

But what does it all mean if we have no one to share it with?

Does it even matter if we do it all with out the most precious capability of life.

I'm not saying you have to be with someone your whole life, and that's the only thing that will ever make you happy.

But what is a life without love?

It's a natural, beautiful, human thing,

And yet not to have it or want it seems alien to me.

I want a love where I feel sparks fly, but the feeling is mutual.

I want a love where we both make the time and effort, to make the other feel special.

But most of all I want a love where I don't have to fight to get their attention, but one where we fight against all the odds that try to drive us apart.

Because that is love, not what most people claim to want now.
