Books on books on books.
The literature that this world offers
Is malignant, poisonous, and crude.
For those who put their literary treasures in coffers,
When they open a modern book the awakening is most likely rude.
Off-color language, vicious characterization
All combine for books filled with trash.
When an author seeks to achieve novelization
It’s more like they’re writing for a lecher’s secret stash.
Themes and style clash with the romantic view.
And plots hardly ever show a blip.
Where are the heroes who pursue
The stories beyond the news clip?
Popular authors pick up their pens to write.
But very few show that they’re worthy of the fight.
