When You Think of Going Back

He didn't want to bring you around his friends
You were always on the back burner unless it was an emergency
He told you he wasn't going anywhere at least 3 times
He left anyway
He never wanted to go to anything that was important to you
All the nights you cried yourself to sleep
All the arguments
The girl you are still sure he lied about
Not wanting to bring you around his family anymore
He would rather give you up for other things
The times he ignored you
The times he hung up on you
The times he raised his voice at you
If he wanted to be in your life, if he loved you, he would have never left
He would still be here
He doesn't miss you
He obviously doesn't want to talk to you
He doesn't want to be around you
He's already trying to move on
Maybe it was all a lie
Maybe he never really loved you
Look at all the tears and the pain he has caused you
He's not worth your time

It is hardly debatable that the world has always been run by a bunch of aging dinosaurs, mostly male, who refuse to allow the younger generation to bring about changes. Politicians and leaders everywhere refuse to release the reigns of creativity and leadership until they are dead or dying. It is time to give the young a chance to revolutionize and change the entire landscape of their existence. Those of us with one foot in the grave, so to speak, should wake up and realize that we are not the ones who will be living in the world in the years to come.
