When You Leave Me

A Lost Poem...

Know that when you leave,

My memory will haunt you.

You will think of me when you smell that sweet perfume,

Like warm sugar cookies.

That song on the radio will take you back to the night we danced together.

And one morning, when you are making your coffee,

There will be a moment where you stop and curse yourself because you put too much creamer in,

You curse yourself, because it no longer matches the color of my eyes.

The eyes you once swore were your everything.
