When it rains
And the forces that guide us
The surreal figures
Who pressed
Their unrealistic images
To our fragile psyches
Break free
In scattering chaos
When the Omnipresent
Bears down on the horizon
Just to remind you
Of its existence
When the storm blows through
Your open door
Settles at your table
And pounds fists of lightning
On the tabletop
Cracking the wood
Demanding meat and wine
And shelter from itself
When it rains
And you cocoon yourself
In the chrysalism of
Its pattering
Its pounding
Its relentless rhythm
Floating within
The amniotic tranquility
Of the storm around you
Wondering
Sleepily
About the raised voices above
When you track the monolith
Across the sky
Listening intently
To the thunder of the gods
Desperately hoping
To divine some message from them
When it rains
And the thunder shakes you
And the lightning disorients you
And the gods give their display
Of washing out
The black of velvet skies
To palest morning
When Thor's hammer falls
In thunderous crescendo
Like the pounding
Of the drums of war
Streaks the sky
Silver with lightning
Like tree branches
Reaching for something
They might never attain
That we may never know
Or understand
When it rains
And the clearest drops
Cleanse you
And the fog that creeps along the ground
Washes the uncertainty from your feet
And the brightest bursts of lightning
Illuminates your path in darkness
When the drumming music
From high above
Mimics your inner rhythm
In perfect synchronicity
When it rains
It is dark and chaotic
But it is also bright and cleansing
It is cold and wet
But it is also invigorating and refreshing
It is dreary and depressing
But it is also introspective and cathartic
When it rains
We're given a chance
At a deeper understanding
When the gods open their book
And let us peruse
At our leisure
When it rains
We're given the option
Of knowledge and wisdom
If we're brave enough
To face the storm
When it rains
Don't hide from it
Dance in it
About the Creator

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
