When I Decided to Give Up

I moved my light to another room.

I left because the organism that existed never changed it’s molecules to accommodate my DNA.

I stopped fighting to fit into a space that was never equipped to accept me.

I grinned and bared it, because I was mistaken to believe my light could shine in a place that was inevitably built for opposite lighting.

I walked away and redistributed my efforts.

I cleansed it all away and found a new space where my personality could thrive and my body could relax.

I became over joyed by the newness of my hand built space that fit my corners and edges.

I found my textured layers painted in colors that shimmer as the sun rises and embolden as the sky falls.

I’ve moved on and I’m happier.

The room is accepting and I’ve learned more about my physical manifestations than ever before.

I’m gone, and I’m proud to say I’ll never force myself to squeeze into limitations ever again.
