What You Wish to Say

For Those Who Wished They Could Say More about Their Mental Health

What can you do?

How can you decide the summary of your story?

I can't struggle or I'm a rickety bridge.

I can't loosen the grip or I'm stabbed by shouts.

I get stabbed because people get mute

When they're close to spilling hatred,

And I'm Superman's counterpart?

You try fitting in with life!

You try constant debating

On whether you were born

As an angel or a devil!

Am I destined to think

Of crying blood

Without care, even from myself

While my ears decode a message,

As I wonder if the creature upon me

Is humane or not to expect me

To not make a few bumps on the road,

Within their yelling, I hear,

"Screw you, clumsy outcast!"

I thought it was a myth,

That the closest bullies to worry of

Are the ones in your home

When you don't have the skills and minds

That they could pray for.

I thought we'd be open

When the storm in your peace

Weathers away by force.

But Earth and clouds give the same warning:

"To stay alive, silence is golden!"

Can you, for once, imagine you're me?

You're not your authority, but you're not stupid.

When your mind shoots out of a cannon,

They quickly build a shielding wall.

When you explain with fingertips,

The response you catch

Is that you'll be delivered

To authorities who'll set you straight

And have a questionable source

Of the beating in their chest.

Why don't you live my life?

Your childhood had its ups and downs,

So when I'm scattering

From emotion to threat,

I'm supposedly frolicking in daffodils

With a big smile stamped on my face!

The only drug I'm on is reality.

The dosage? Eternal.

Read the story of a splattered mind

And the story of a child

Whose generation lacked so many shoulders to cry on

That brains' "boohoo" are heard as "taboo."

Which one will make you stop sooner?

About the Creator

Monique Star

I'm not the most sophisticated adult out there. I'm also not the best at communicating all the time, but I do try my best to get my thoughts out there into the world verbally or nonverbally.
