What You Don't Understand

I think the hardest thing for me

is getting you to realize that I am both

so deeply in love with you and myself.

I am my own oxygen,

and my heart is still my heart.

But you..

You reside inside of me

You remind me of emotions that I can't produce by myself.

But you see,

The emotions you have made me feel

allow me to connect deeper with myself

to learn my body and mind.

Without you, I am still me.

But with you, I am a different me.

I am a wise, experienced, and committed me.

I am a me that I cannot be

without you.

So please understand that when I say you're my everything—

I do not mean to say that I am not me without you.

I mean to say that

You are the stars and the planets;

I am the galaxies

and together we make

A Universe.
