What You Do

A Poem

Little girls ready to slice and dice

With razor blades or a butcher's knife

To them it doesn't matter whatever takes away the pain

Because no matter how hard they try there's gonna be that one dude that can make their day go from good to bad

Make them go from happy to sad

Make them ready to end it all

I'm the girl you don't tell your friends about

Because you're afraid they'll talk

Because you're afraid to actually have feelings

Because in your mind whatchu doing ain't hurting anybody

But it's hurting me

It's hurting the girl you can smile with

But turn your back on if you get asked if you know us

Here's some real talk right now

You're okay to dick us down

But take us out on the town?

Hell no

You go out of your way to take us somewhere

Somewhere that nobody knows our names

You avoid selfies

And you avoid using names

Because to you this is just a game

You know what to say and you know what to do

And the worst part is this is the truth

You say you're different

You say you're nice

But to you we're just some vice

To take away stress or to take away feelings

Everything you do to us is to benefit you

But what it's doing to us, what it's doing to us is destroying our soul

We won't know what a good dude is

You've twisted the game

You call us by name

You tell us we're beautiful

You tell us everything we'd ever want to hear and more

For what? For you to close the door

On something we thought was real.

You make us feel the nice guys ain't there.
