What You Did

Poem

You tried to put out that fire that swept up my rage

but you only got caught up in the flames.

They say a journey doesn't move your feet it moves your soul

How come this one shakes my bones?

You handed me a knife and told me to run

You said it was the only thing that could be done.

Now I'm thinking about the things I want to say

Everyone's down here but we're up in space.

I helped you commit your crime,

now you're running away from mine.

You locked me in a cage

and I never ever misbehaved.

You gave me your innocent smile

It kept me with you for a while.

I'll get back at you someday

I'll make you wish you stayed.
