Inspired by Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye's, "When Love Arrives."
-
Love is not what you think it is.
Love blinds.
Love hides... the truth from you.
Love says he loves you and he does not mean it.
I do not say to Love that I want commitment for Love will tell me I am simply acting "crazy."
I tell Love I am fine, and cry behind my screen of unreplied text messages.
I do not say that I deserve more love.
But I do deserve more love.
And when I meet Love again he'll look different.
Different eyes, different hair, different heart.
Love will drunkenly tell me he loves me, even though we're not together yet.
Love will leave a trail of kisses along the places Old Love used to hate.
Love will reply to every text, say every truth and know when I am not fine behind crying eyes.
Love will make me happier, Love will make me forget about Old Love although the memories still linger.
Love will tell me my past is a part of me but does not define me.
And it's true.
I do not miss Old Love because New Love makes me love myself and that, indefinitely, is new.
