What Is It That You See?

Those Maple Brown Eyes Gazing Into...

"What is it that you see?" I ask those maple brown eyes that are gazing into my chestnut color eyes.

All I see is my failures.

My past.

My circumstance.

I’m too bruised.

I’m too broken.

I’m too needy.

But my defenses are up.

It is not that I don’t want you, but, all I see is what I am not.

I have never been in love, but I have been hurt by it.

So, what is it that you see?"

Those maple brown eyes stare into me and say: “All I see is beauty.”

For those who feel worthless or feel insignificant. Trust me I see beauty!
