I’m a single Pringle

One of quite a fewHis eyes on

Were not to beSo what do I know of love?

A mother embraces her childWho’s crying in despairA pair of warm armsA steady calm beatThat’s what I know of love

Disaster strikes, the twin towers hit

A million people broken from itFrantic phone calls, desperate last words

“I love you, I need you, I won’t let you go”

That’s what I’ve heard of love

Arrival gates at airportsJust like in the moviesA beaming smile

A “Welcome home”That’s what I’ve seen of love

A home cooked meal

Boiling in the pot

When made for two

That extra special stew

Is what I’ve tasted of love

But I’m a single Pringle

One of quite a fewThis valentine

He won’t be mine

So what do I know of love?
