What Are You Thinking?

A Poem for You

When we're together

What do you think?

Always wondering

like you're sitting on a deck above the bay.

Do you wonder if I am worth it?

Walking on the boardwalk,

better scenary, but still louder.

But it doesn't bother you.

Grabbing the edge,

Looking at the horizon,

Do you want to be free?

At the Amusement Park,

Stuck on a roller coaster

Most are freaking out around us,

but you,

have a serene face.

Looking up at the sky,

Do you want to fly away?

Sunset comes,

laying on the beach,

holding hands,

You turn to me,

You say,

"To me there be no other,

than you,

For you make me feel alive,

you take me to places only existing in my dreams,

But,

in my dreams,

we aren't us,

we are birds flying together,

over the endless sea,

flying towards the sunset."

That was the last thing,

you said that night.

We got into a car crash later that night.

You didn't make it,

It was a drunk driver.

My tears will end soon,

but you will never leave my heart.
