Welcome Home

Anchor

When it comes down to it, we all just want someone to come home to at the end of the day who is happy to see us. A set of arms to fall into that will cradle away the burdens of our day. A shared shoulder to carry the weight of this arbitrary world. That solitary voice that whispers only our name above the constant din of a churning universe. Someone to tenderly kiss away the sea of callousness that we wade through each day. An anchor to remind us that we have a permanent space despite the uncertainty of this life. When it comes down to it, we all just want to be loved, unconditionally, without fear, without doubt, without reprimand. In all our flawed humanness, and our scarred spirits we just want to seek the quintessence of calm that we can only find in another beating, imperfect heart. We just want to be welcomed home; not to a physical place, but to a state of mind.
