We walked briskly in the cold
Whilst staring at the night sky
Beyond the clouds, the heavens to behold
And the One who is on High
Listening to the angels sing “Hark!”
And the bells jingle and ring
We bow before our Holy Patriarch
Bearing the Gifts that we bring
The little boy smiles and begins to play his drum
The shepherds relax against their staffs and listen
The Divine Child laughs as if he was never glum
His laughter clearly pleased the stars, for they glistened
The sheep bleated as they sang their song
The wolves, in the distance, howled
The chorus of humans and animals alike rose strong
While the evil one, who remained displeased, scowled
On this day, the Lord had clearly won the war
For the Child of Light was born, you see
As the excitement filled us kings, we sang some more
For we are happy that we came, we three
