We Live

Every day we live with the world on our shoulders and agony in our hearts

But we never let that struggle or others' ignorance of it tear us apart

We stay strong even when circumstances bring us to our knees

We feel with every atom in our being but never break because we know that it’s all part of own mortality

So when it’s time to cry we let the tears run

Heads held high no shame in it

We live every moment best we can

Yet we’re only human and of course

Some days we are overcome by the darkness that echoes through every inch of our society

But even shrouded by its oppressive shroud

We never allow it to change who we truly are

For every wound eventually comes a scar that screams a reminder of all we’ve been through

This world is brutal, unfair, and cruel

I know

But it can never take away the flame burning deep in your core

You just have to be brave enough to face the flames and reach for more

And be willing to hold on no matter what life has in store

So try living like we do
