We Are Pirates

We are all pirates, searching for that hidden treasure.

We trample on threats and shoot them down, we stab our crew just to get to the top and leave those who turn on us behind.

Human nature is selfish.

Our bad deeds are for personal pleasure and our good deeds are bursting with selfish ambition.

Insecurity has become our fuel for performance.

Trust has become the most unprotected endangered species.

Forgiveness is rare and is seen predominantly as impossible.

All of this because, in the sinking ship of our current standards of society, the jewel of acceptance comes at such a high price.

We walk with a wooden leg because we could not afford to keep the real things in life, our family, our friendships, our values and morals.

Thus, we have lost our ability to be real.

And so in the end we show off our wood and gold, at the expense of equality, unity and real joy.

Yes, we are all foolish pirates, changing for a diluted, shallow, fake version of "love."

All the while tossing the real treasures away.
