We Are One

Still Alone

The world around me can be so harsh

Killing those that look like me

Brown skin, black skin, light skin, dark

Without one ounce of remorse

I wake each day to look at a reflection

That is valued less by some

A price that cant be computed

Filled with emotion that will never be muted.

The world around me can be so weak

Killing those that look like me

Because they cant see in them what I see

Fear clouds their judgement until red appears

Blood rains from bodies soaking streets with tears

Am I less because my DNA is pure like a wild animal caught for sport

My life is not a price that I'm willing to pay

For your pride and racism that will never dissipate.

Why does the world around me have to be this way?

Only because we allow it by our own community segregation.

We'll accomplish more together than ever alone

And until we figure that out

They'll continue to spill our blood one by one

Black lives matter

But this is Black life Eradication.
