There is purpose to everything.
Nothing is random.
Hydrogen and helium together created stars.
Stars began a process, a thing we call nuclear fusion.
Soon they would use up all their energy and die.
In their death they would explode, causing the gases and elements of the star to react with each other and form new elements.
These new elements would form our earth.
You know them as iron and carbon, nitrogen, oxygen.
Our earth is made of star stuff.
We live on this earth, we eat the things of this earth, our bodies create other bodies and bring children to this earth.
We are literally made from the dust of the earth.
Iron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen?
Those compose your body.
We are made of star stuff.
The size of our sun, the distance between our earth and the sun, the speed at which we revolve around it is all needed for us to live.
I find comfort in the mysteries of science.
Without them we could not progress.
Believe to understand rather than understand to believe.
Science humbles me and gives me perspective.
It strengthens my love, my gratitude, my confidence.
How great thou art.
