We Are Afraid

The Morbid Reality for 21st Century Students

We enter the school,

And we sit down in my class,

But we are afraid.

We hear the bell ring,

We sit in our assigned seats,

And we pray we're safe

The teacher begins,

We try our hardest to learn,

But we are afraid.

17 were killed,

But it was in Florida,

It won't happen to us.

17 days later,

It happened in Michigan;

It happened to us.

Only two died,

So it wasn't a school shooting,

But we are afraid.

School has become hell.

Are we going to be safe?

We are still afraid.

School has become hell.

Are we going to die today?

We are still afraid.
