Wax

A Lovesong

It rained so hard the other night, I was driving with no sight

As soon as my windshield wiped I was back to blind again

I was young but my mind was worn by pain, I was weak but just strong enough to breathe beneath the waves

He's my savior, I believe in him

I pray from him acceptance, in return he teaches patience

There are chains around my arms and a leash bound to my heart

I lower my voice to accommodate thee, my aesthetic: his reflection in me

The bungee cord has come unlatched, I feel my soul fall attached

His eyes are wider than the ocean at sea, my little lies have brought more than expected to me

He's charming and I'm reckless, I'm effectively his shrine

This will become a problem, I've devoted all my time to destroying my own life

In the rain I'm soaking, his umbrella is hand woven, so I wax myself and float away
