Waves Are You Shore?

Moving Mood Swings Between Two Star-Crossed Lovers

Written within your beautiful brown paper handbook, I’ve decided to continue my thoughts.

You’re like a ocean. Capturing my heart, freeing my air and music to my ears. Uncovering the underlying truth about topics I didn’t know I had emotions towards.

Sometimes I think you understand me, that we’re side by side, reading one word at a time and helping each other pronounce, understand and unpack what we’re reading.

I was wrong. We’re on two different books, different chapters, different reading levels - if you will. I stand in the ocean, I breathe in the air, I think. Oh boy, do I think...

Everything I believe we’re on the same page, a wave crashes over me. You try to help me up but it’s too late - I’ve drifted. Another wave follows through. I jump and gasp for air. Salt water hits my eyes, I’m unable to see but I hear a soft voice, "I understand, I’m sorry." Without gaining full vision, I nod and smile. I love you.
