Washed Away

But Never Clean

I just wanted to do things right this time.

My whole life

I’ve been washing washing washing

And I thought I was finally clean.

But you can never wash yourself off of your body.

Whether my skin is clean does not matter,

When the thing that I actually want to wash

Is too far deep inside.

I can’t wash away the skeleton,

That keeps rolling in the mud,

Even though my mind wants to stand

Amid clean cut crisp crowns,

Created from brand new grass,

Just like everyone else.

I think I’m my mind,

But my bones control the real me me me

That I can never wash,

Only hide with someone else’s clean clean clean

Clean clean clean

Clean clean clean.
