An Everyday Battle

Waiting patiently for a better day. Fighting harder for a softer way. Wound up tight, I need to escape. No way out, it's all sinking down. Walking tall. Don't fall. Dying inside out to turn it around. My heart is screaming, begging, pleading. It wants me dead and it's so deceiving. Cunning, baffling, powerful are the words that they say. Don't look too far ahead. Take it day by day. Grace and salvation are on the other side. God please lift me higher with every stride. On angel's wings I long to fly. Being pulled back lie after lie. I'm fighting a battle that longs to be won. My sins have been paid for by God's only son. I can't give up and I won't give in. This is a battle that Satan won't win.
