Virtual Normality
Poem About the Addiction We Have in Technology
The true meaning of fulfillment;
Not someone telling you how they feel,
But the constant reassurance
That our pictures are liked and at least look real.
The "fun" we display,
Sharing the memories and lively scene,
Is all but more than 47 likes,
And a few comments through a screen.
It's not the fact that we are trying to discover
Whether there is a real problem;
Yet, what we are simply after
Is a more simple way to solve them.
A buzz, a ding, a vibrate, or a ring.
All the sounds we strive to hear,
But what about a laugh, or cry
Because once you see it, it's pretty clear.
It's clear to remember that the key to happiness is the true communication,
But for now, I guess, I can just wake up with the hope of one new notification.
So, in our days, of what we call "reality,"
We preach to ourselves
And thank everyday for our virtual "normality."
