Vinyl Hearts
A poem of love and the influence of music

My heart is a record
And you
You are the turntable
Some time you should play me
I might be scratched but I think you should be able
The sound quality is alright
But that’s because we’re both a little bit unstable
Yet you make me feel so bright
My feelings projected from the grooves of my soul
Especially at night
The moon doesn’t even have to be whole
If you spin me just right
I'll sing you the love songs of old
I may skip a beat
Or even play on repeat
Just know that when my record is sold
It comes off of the 99 cent rack
I’m just a bit messed up
I need my turntable back
One that wont scratch me
Or leave me in a box under the stairs
So spin me just right
And show me that you care
