Vestiges

There you are, I’ve been waiting for you...

Night unfolding into a memory of the sun,

beauty—divine and vicious,

ripping away vestiges of sin

and uncloaking the truth.

You, my twin flame,

there is no other—

an unsettling under your skin,

a restless longing

as you wandered through your life

never satisfied,

never able to pinpoint

what was missing,

never scratching

beneath surface passions

and uncovering ecstasy underneath,

never diving into the depths called love.

A yearning for something different,

something more

choking your heartbeat.

I am the intoxication

before we kiss, the softness

that rests against your thoughts,

the rapture that unfolds

through your being.

Personification of the word

complete

rekindled

as your soul breathes:

“There you are,

I have been waiting for you

a very long time.”
