Venus

I remember long evenings

and days overlooked as lightyears

time consistently warps

expanded solely by thoughts of you

we were heliocentric,

you were my sun

while to you,

I was just another

planet in rotation

I proved that,

when I devoted every

thought

word

and favor

to you

as you went to leave me

and then you burned me

as I tried to get closer again

whenever I turned away

you always came back into view

I have come to terms

with the fact that I'll never find
