Untitled (Part 1)
A Spoken Word Poem From My 'Fading Impressions' Collection
Stop! Breathe! Allow me to look you in the eye. For I...
I would love to have a glimpse inside your mind... To witness first hand the beauty of your imagination...to have a window in to your soul
Take me into your confidence
Allow me to weave you into mine
Let our yellow and blue blend into green fields 'neath sunny skies that test the truth of this existence. Ignorant of nothing yet defiant of intentions cast towards tearing down the infinity that our souls breathe into life
Resolve tested and tempered with patience and understanding
Hearts sail the stormy seas, blithesome in the face of uncertain horizons
It's funny, I think. How I can speak plainly with you about everything…except for how I feel. These thoughts flow chaotically, though freely, through our conversations. And the wheels of my mind like the wheels of my truck on I-95. Wheels spinning at 80 mph; wind blowing across my head with its roar drowned out by an eclectic, contradicting playlist blaring into my ears as my voice blasts at the imaginary audience that is my windshield. I have to stop!...breathe!...remind myself that the waving hands I see are really windshield wipers whooshing away raindrops that fall in lieu of tears. See…I don’t have time to cry ‘cause I’m smiling, laughing, my mind dancing in the rain…
I've scratched ink into the fog of confusion. Pen tracing lines into word-like shapes, stencils that I use to cut through the calamity. My mind is toiling, my heart is burning, and my pen can’t move fast enough. So I rant aloud to blank walls giving voice to thoughts that never make it to the page…The night, she caresses me in my sleepless state. Her blanket cool & calming, warm & soothing, easing my troubled mind. Enveloped by infinite possibility I find myself more liberated than lost in the chaotic beauty...or is it "beautiful chaos?"
...is there a difference?
...does it matter?
