Unrequited

Not the Same

You ask someone about love, and they’ll tell you about heartbreak

You say what you gave, and they'll care about what you did take

You can bow down to them, and they’ll count the seconds you stand

You can give someone your arm, and they’ll be mad you didn’t give them your other hand

You can give someone your all, and they’ll still let you fall

You can tell someone what’s wrong, and they’ll tell you what is right

Sometimes I want to die and I worry if you’ll cry

You can tell someone you relapsed, and they’ll hate you for breaking

It’s like I’m a leaf and you just won’t stop raking
