Unfold Me
(Unfold Me is the first release from my third poetry book. I hope you enjoy it.)
You said one night, you wanted to be free
You said that night, that’s why you turned to me
That night’s cool breeze, I took you hither and yon
And in one night, then I became your swan
We met at lunch, you were tangled in your pitch
We spoke at length, you were finding your light switch
And by dessert, we had talked for miles so far
And by dessert, then I became your star
Back on that day, wind grey, your sun was white
Back on that hill, you told me your plight
In that minute, I gave you a colour to focus
In that second, then I became your lotus
It was morning, when your heart became confused
It was eleven, when you were convinced love was unused
By noon that day, at your call I was cupids arrow
By half of twelve, then I became your sparrow
But on that night, I had need to be in my frame
And at that lunch, I was trying to be my own plane
And on that hill, I was smoothing my creases you see
Recycled now from all your origami
