There is a consequence to a sigh,
To which you cannot formulate a counter reply.
Sentiment and reason seem to hold little meaning,
With coffee and logic you can sober up your dreaming.
Human characteristics give away too much emotion,
A twitch of the eye or a imperceptible motion.
I've formulated a pattern inside my eyes,
To see pungent emotion patted down in disguise.
I've watched the lids of eyes go unblinking,
Holding back tears or bitter breasted hearts sinking.
And with ther melancholy notes of a sigh,
I hear a thousand unuttered words whispering goodbye.
