Under the Tree of Life and Death

A Poem

Stay the tears now my dearest,

Only dreams of your descend,

To below the mound above the ground,

Your mind may rot, but forgotten not.

So rest my love, under the tree;

Our time together has grown.

Now spread the seeds of your desire,

To cover all despair of the mire.

We’ll rejoice in peace once more,

Under the tree of Life and Death.

Where your songs of roots and leaves,

Grows hope to the churning Earth.

All those below will soon replace,

Everything above, and by that time,

We will have loved even more,

Under the tree of Life and Death.

And soon after, it will be you

Who speaks words of care,

To ease my rotting self,

As I have done again for you.
