She threw herself at heartbreak like a moth drawn to a flame. Patching up her broken wings, just to try it again, and the world all thought her foolish, for she never seemed to learn, but how do you save somebody, who's convinced they should burn ?
She embraced him during the lonely hours of night and walked the path of shame early in the mornings . What would become of the foolish girl searching for fondness and affection in all the wrong places. Arriving at camouflaged heartbreaks disguised as mortals who welcomed her with open arms promising false tenderness.
False feelings
False intimacy
False prophecy of goodwill
She was flying, soaring to horizons far beyond anyone's eye
He gave her flight, made her feel as if she were a precious jewel
So rare
So significant
So unique
The illusion ended sooner than she thought
He no longer wanted what she had already given
Suddenly this beautiful woman was descending faster to earth than light itself
She hit the concrete with a solid impact
So hard it took some time to realize that she was no longer airborne
He was gone
Already into the arms of another who was once imperceptible
Who had fallen the same
Who had flied the same
Who had cried the same
Who was loving indifferently
She was disposed of
Sorrow now festers inside her rotting all things that were once alive
She is deprived of intimacy
Of attachment
Of endearment
Of being someone's beloved
Time will heal these infected wounds
But the memories will always lie within
His image chained to the corners of her mind
His words carved from existence
About the Creator
Lapria Williams
Thick in the thighs, Perceptive in the mind
