Indigo canvas

Speckled with playful pinpricks

Of brilliant white light

Full moon majesty

Hangs heavy, while startled sky

Blinks in glaring light

Deep black silhouettes

Barely catch the bold moon rays

And light from streetlamps

Green grass looks blue now

Gently tickles my bare feet

Cold, mysterious

The campfire crackles

Its orange makes everything

else darker, unseen

Glowing firelit face

Bends to kiss my warm forehead

Wakes fierce butterflies

Cool rippling lake, your

depths are the most welcoming

black, yet I'm afraid

Calm, silent waters

Breathe peace and wisdom freely

Expecting nothing
