Turtle Doves

"...Don't know what you saying; you just ain't saying no..."

turtle doves

you do due diligence

i move quills over parchment & fill it with

far fetched charm, with my arms stretched far, in each stanza

realizing he's there

recognizing your prayers, emerge through my answers

these hands are, surgical

the cure for vertigo & a murdered soul

every word is sewn, when i insert a poem

woven to capture wings, like turtle doves, when hurtles come

insisting you marry him

the longer you carry hymns

designed by emotions he's sharing when

he's wearing them, on his cufflinks

apparently one wink, becomes a love thing

making your heart melt & do cart wheels

still, you've heard nothing

just wait till, his lips whisper, kisses with pictures

feelings revealing pleasant premonitions through scriptures

that surge your circumference

till you unbutton your buttons

all of a sudden, you've become his cranberry muffin

better yet; peaches & mangoes

until you're very wet; speechless, or your speech is all tangled

like charlie brown's teacher, speaking strange, & slow

don't know what you saying; you just ain't saying no

cause he eats you, like he's got a sweet tooth

& he treats you like rainbows

& speaks to you like an angel

amazed with, fascination, every time he sees you in your halo

turtle doves
