Trust

I trusted you and you tore me apart. I showed you every flaw I had within myself and you through them all back in my face. You took all of my insecurities and proved them right. You stole every dream I ever had and shattered them with violent words. But I trusted you.

I trusted you and you betrayed me. You promised you would never hurt me but that was all you ever did. You told me I was the only one you wanted but you said that to the others as well. You told me you only wanted what was best for me but you just wanted control. But still I trusted you.

I trusted you and you left. You said this would be best for us when it was only best for you. You told me you needed to be alone for a while and ran straight to someone else. But still I trusted you.

It was only after I caught you in all of your lies that I realized I am better off without you. It was only then did I realized that you never truly loved me. You never cared for me and only wanted to hold me back. So now I trust no one.
