Trouble

Cheating Death

The Desire to be Numb

There was a clown at my door. A clown at my door? A clown at my door! "The circus is in town."

"I'm not a circus freak."

"All the same, I think you should come down and take a peek."

"Well aren't you just some painted trouble. I'm in my pajamas and I don't leave the house with strangers. Can't you see I'm content in my bubble"

"I tried to be nice. You leave me no choice."

The crazy twisted clown yanked my arm. It's voice... ... ...

Became merciless, It's boney fingered hand was cold and soulless.

"Death? Death is that you? Are you for real? I thought we struck a deal."

I wiggled my wrist to try and break free, but the clown gripped harder and I almost dropped me to my knees. Its paint was sweating off and its eyes were set; I could see It grit its teeth as our eyes met.

"Well aren't you just some painted trouble. Tarred all over with empty eyes. To think I used to believe all those Prince Charming lies."

With a voice that would send chills up Vador's back, It replied to me as the world went black.

"I left you alone. I didn't visit or call. Just so you could rot and avoid all. You tried cheating me and I don't like cheaters. Now you can't take back your life, your minetonight."

"Ha~ You're funny! I always beat you fair and square. You can't have even a piece of my hair."

"You came seeking me so many times before, and I left you live, but now, no more."

"Awe poor death. Not meeting your quotas anymore. Are the reigning three realms low on occupancy once more? So they let you loose to harass the depressed? Are the other millions like me, falling prey to your honey, the sweetener that kills? Besides I'm not even dead this time. Why are you bothering me?"

"I wouldn't be too sure about that princess. Your breaking heart is under arrest while you're lying on your table running out of breath. The "sweetener that kills" that you claim is mine, is manufactured pills you OD on every time.

"No, No, No!!! I'm standing right here... ... ... In this black abyss of bullshit that I wish would disappear. I AM NOT skating on thin ice, I'm soberly staring at a clown who isn't very nice. Every time a heart breaks you come to crush it at its wake. I'm just a girl with tears tangled up in abandonment fears. But your demented trouble with a smeared painted face, big dead eyes, no laughs, bad jokes, and lies lies lies."

"Attention, Attention, Attention Please All of the nobody listening anymore or caring anymore... she is in denial and about to fall to her knees because despite her monolog... ... ... You are dead, Indeed. So no more booing-hooing or jeering. keep your hands and feet inside for this ride. No peeking or peering longing for the other side Just sit back and enjoy your show for you're about to see all the things for which you thought, "I know". "

"You, much like many others, are damaged and lying on the cold hard ground. Always trying, trying, trying then crying, crying, crying. But no matter how much you try or how much you cry one day you will die. It's just hard to understand why dying like a broken shattered glass is preferable to facing some fears that may or may not come to pass. I have seen nothing different that will change in you. It's always you staring at me and me staring back at you."

"CLEAR"

An intake of breath

All black becomes bright

Eyes wide and bulging

Sat bolt upright

"Heartbeats back! You're really lucky! If it wasn't for your friend checking in on you, we never would have got to you in time."
