Trickle Down

Condensed Musings

Trickle down, sweet January dew

Into the cracks that the window hides

Unlocking her unique tapestries

At once ancient blueprints and brand new

Trickle down, late afternoon mist

Like the grains of sand blasted from the glass

That remember the warmth of days long past

And etch, with heat, as your memories insist

Trickle down, wet winter day

Into the furnace of my soul

Steam and sizzle on the adamant coals

They’ll weep with you as you evaporate

Trickle down, cold January damp

Enrobing the cracks in everything

We will melt whatever ice you bring

But your lacework leaves an enduring stamp
