Stature—stature defines how we view its strength.
Beauty is only accepted by its age and its length.
The wind of time rustles sleepily through its trembling hands.
The wrinkles and grooves of life weathered deeply where it stands.
If a tree falls with nobody around,
Yes, yes it makes a sound!
It makes the sound of the elderly holding on for last breath.
It makes the sound of a baby crying—life's first test.
It makes the sound of a boy wailing that momma's not coming home.
It makes the sound of the slamming doors realizing daddy's all alone.
It makes the sound of the wedding bells ring true and loud.
It makes the sound of passionate lovers lost in the clouds.
Tree of life, oh where have you been?
I've been wandering with life not lived and sights unseen!
Show me the ways of the world in your hands.
How all hell breaks loose but steady you stand.
I shake and I quiver at the slightest move.
Your roots run so deep an earthquake can't quake you.
Show me your love and show me your time.
You've seen many lives before, so please save mine.
