Alone in my bed- Alone in the dark
a light is shone on your absence.
Absent from my arms-
Removed from lovers light-
Removed from the linger of skin on skin,
Of freckle melting with freckle-
Build to bridge the space between
surgical conversations operate
in implanting loneliness.
But my heart still holds you.
There is a twinkle in another's eye-
But in his arms
I could not find you.
This void filled with your absence.
And I shall not hear the words:
I love you
I miss you
You are my woman.
For your words are stored for academic contemplation-
and spewing while drunk.
And I will never understand.
