I’m sorry
I didn’t mean to hurt you
like you hurt me
but now I’ve moved on
finding someone better
someone who respects me
someone who will protect me
I look back on you and what you did
realizing it was never love
I just lived in a constant state of fear
hoping I could hide from the monster you had become
but you tore me apart piece by piece
until there was nothing left of me
you had eaten away at my soul
leaving it demolished for everyone else who came along
making me put up walls that nobody can take down

INTRODUCTION Prompted: #3 is over and done with. There were a total of 7 entries for this challenge, just like with Prompted #2. That was a bit surprising, considering this was a poetry challenge.
